Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 29 October 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of ictnotes.org (the "website") run by ICT Notes ("we", "us"). By using the website you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. What ICT Notes is

ICT Notes is a free, non-commercial educational hub. It collects and organises ICT past papers, model papers, school and provincial term test papers, marking schemes and lessons so that Sri Lankan students can find them easily. Papers come from publicly available sources and from students, teachers and schools who share them with us.

ICT Notes is an independent website. We are not part of, approved by, or connected to the Department of Examinations, the Ministry of Education, the National Institute of Education, any provincial department of education, or any school, unless a page clearly says so.

2. Ownership of papers and content

We do not own the examination papers, term test papers or marking schemes on the website, and we do not claim to. Copyright in these materials belongs to their original authors and owners, such as the Department of Examinations, provincial departments of education, schools and teachers, in accordance with the Intellectual Property Act, No. 36 of 2003. Names, logos and crests that appear on papers belong to their owners.

We make these materials available free of charge for students' personal study and revision. Our own work, including the website design, the ICT Notes name and logo, page text, lessons and the way the library is organised, belongs to ICT Notes.

3. How you may use the website

You may view and download materials for your own personal, non-commercial study, and teachers may use them with students for free.

You must not:

  • sell, rent or charge for materials from the website, or include them in paid products, books, apps or classes;
  • republish or re-upload materials from the website on other websites, apps or social media channels as your own collection;
  • remove or alter copyright notices, crests or other marks of ownership on materials;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to download or copy the website, or try to get around download checks, verification or rate limits;
  • attack, overload, probe or interfere with the website or its security, or access areas you are not authorised to use;
  • use the website for anything unlawful under the laws of Sri Lanka.

We may block access, remove content or take other action if these Terms are broken.

4. Accuracy and no warranty

We work hard to label papers correctly and keep them readable, but all materials are provided "as is", for study purposes only, without any warranty. In particular:

  • papers, answers and marking schemes may contain errors, may be incomplete, or may be unofficial versions prepared by teachers or schools;
  • syllabuses and exam formats change; always confirm important information with your school, your teachers or the official source;
  • we do not guarantee that the website will always be available, error-free or free of interruptions.

You are responsible for how you use the materials, including for checking them before relying on them.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Sri Lanka, ICT Notes and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or any materials on it. This includes examination results, academic or career decisions, loss of data, damage to devices, and any indirect or consequential loss.

The papers on the website are provided by their owners, public sources and contributors. ICT Notes is not responsible for their content, accuracy or ownership, beyond acting promptly on valid complaints as described below.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Sri Lankan law.

6. Copyright complaints and removal requests

We respect the rights of copyright owners. If you own a paper or other material on the website, or are authorised to act for the owner, and you do not want it on ICT Notes, email [email protected] with:

  • the link to the page or paper concerned;
  • your name, organisation and contact details;
  • a short statement that you own the material, or are authorised to act for the owner, and that you object to it being on the website.

We will review every request and, where it is valid, remove or disable the material promptly, normally within 7 working days. We may contact the person who submitted the material. If material was removed by mistake, you may ask us to review the decision.

7. Sharing papers with us

When you submit a paper or other material, you confirm that:

  • you are allowed to share it, and sharing it does not break anyone else's rights or any school rule you must follow;
  • it does not contain other people's personal information, such as students' names, index numbers or answers, unless they have agreed;
  • it is not offensive, harmful or misleading.

You give ICT Notes a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to store, review, organise, label, publish and share the material on the website for students to use free of charge. You do not lose any rights you have in the material. We may edit its details, decline it, or remove it at any time, and we do not have to publish everything we receive.

8. Other websites and advertisements

The website may include links to other websites and advertisements shown by third parties such as Google. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, products, services or privacy practices. A link or advertisement does not mean we endorse it.

9. Changes to the website and these Terms

We may change, suspend or stop any part of the website, or remove any material, at any time and without notice. We may update these Terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the website after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

10. Indemnity

If you break these Terms or the law when using the website, or submit material you were not allowed to share, you agree to be responsible for any resulting claims, losses or costs against ICT Notes.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute that cannot be settled informally will be dealt with by the courts of Sri Lanka.

12. Contact
