What is a computer network?

A computer network is a set of connected computers. The computers and the devices on the network are connected using wires or wirelessly.
What is the Internet?

When a large number of networks are interconnected, we called it the Internet. Therefore, the internet is made up of networks on companies, governments, universities, and other organizations. They use the internet to share resources and data among other networks.
Difference between Network and Internet
The main difference between the computer network and the internet is the network is two more interconnected computers whereas the internet is a large, interconnected network.
World Wide Web (WWW)
World wide web is a service of the internet. The WWW is a collection of websites found on this network of computers. According to the statics, there are nearly 2 billion websites on the WWW. Among them less than 400 million websites are active.

Web Browser
A web browser is an application software for accessing the information on the WWW. We browse to the web pages on WWW using these web browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera. The web browser and the search engine is two different things on the internet. The search engine is a special website which helps us find the web site on WWW according to search keywords.

URL
URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. A URL is nothing more than the address of a given unique resource on the Web. Now let us see an example for a URL. The name of the following website is unique. The ictnotes.org section is called as domain and the set of rules we use to access the website indicate using the protocol.

Domain Name
The name of your website is called as Domain name. A domain name is an address where Internet users can access your website. A domain name is used for finding and identifying websites on the Internet.

A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosting is a service that allows organizations and individuals to post a website or web page onto the Internet.

Search Engines
Search Engines are web-based software that locates information on the World Wide Web and generate results according to a search keyword or query. The popular search engines are Google, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Ask, and Yandex. The following image shows the icons of several search engines.
